WGSN seminar on fashion trends for Spring Summer 2012

Last November 8, I attended WGSN's trend forecasting for Spring Summer 2012 discussed by Catwalks' Senior Editor, Sue Evans which was held at Raffles Design Institute-Manila. If you have no idea what WGSN is, WGSN is the world's leading and most recognized online trend-analysis and research service providing creative and business intelligence for the apparel, style, design and retail industries. The seminar was about an in-depth look at what trends will guide fashion and retail for the Spring Summer 2012. WGSN identifies the key trend direction for Womenswear, Menswear, Kidswear, Swimwear, Intimates, Accessories and Footwear, covering the key looks, shapes, color and print. I was a little bit late for the seminar, but I didn't missed out on anything much. When I arrive, Sue Evans was just discussing the major topics on the trend forecasting. She talked about the color and fabric direction, as well as the print and pattern trend for Spring Summer 2012. Moreover, the key looks for next season which are, Sporting life, Aquatic, 50's twist and Tribal Artisan. I have no photos of the trends and key looks to show you as an example, because I think we were not allowed to take photos at the seminar at least that's what I'm told but, I took down notes though. Here are the bits of info I jutted down:

All in all, it was a great experience! It was my first time to attend a trend forecasting seminar and I instantly got hooked! It's amazing how so much you could learn about future trends in just 2 hours and a half. Now, I'm really wishing I could attend trade shows and more trend forecasting! Oh how I love this industry!
