What I wore to Blogger's United yesterday. The holiday season is here, and so I opt for yuletide colors, hence the red blazer. Had a great time rummaging the closet of all the bloggers, good thing I went there pretty early, so I was able to get the first dibs. Thank you Ana, Pax and Melai for organizing an event such as this. Congratulations for yet another successful Blogger's United! More power to you guys!

Exemption to the rule

One of the biggest color matching concerns is wearing black with brown. Everyone has heard at least one old fashion rule, “never mix black and brown in an outfit”. This rule is one of the most pervasive old fashion rules out there and it’s just not true at all! Here’s the thing, it’s all the way you put it together! 

So how do you make it work? Remember that neutrals go with everything! Neutrals, after all, go with every color, you can wear them with pretty much anything including each other. Make sure that you have a lighter shade of brown color when you pair it with black, it’s easier to pull off a black and brown outfit when you use shades of camel, taupe, or nude. These creates a nice contrast with the black. Add up a hint of animal print that contains both black and brown and accessorize with gold accents and a pastel color that match both colors, so building an outfit around it will be a piece of cake.

Matching colors does not have too be a fashion challenge. Just mix and match, wear what you think looks good and be a trend setter!

On my days when I feel lazy to dress up, I just throw on a tee and jeans combo. These two are my typical "throw on" for a casual weekend look. I really like wearing jeans that are comfy, stylish and gives a right fitting and this jeans from Hang Ten serves just about all of those. The crisp plain tee is a perfect combo for such jeans, the two makes a great canvas. It's all a matter of rendering difference and perhaps toss in some quirky details to these basics. There's no law forbidding you to spice it up a little, yes? so I layered on some jewelries to this basic outfit- a chunky necklace, stack of bracelets and a few different rings that adds interest and a bit of edge to the look. Accessories really does spruce up an outfit.

PHOTO FAIL! I apologize for the grainy photos (ack!) really not my type at all and doesn't happen on a daily basis. These photos were taken after our family dinner at a buffet restaurant, it was really dark outside so I had no other choice but to have my outfit photos taken at the parking lot before heading home. Didn't use flash for the thought that the natural fluorescent light would look better, not realizing this would result to a this grainy effect on the photo. Back to regular clear photo programming on the next post, promise!

Two items from this look are recently bought, the clogs and necklace. Those clogs are made out of real wood but it is not the dense kind of wood, it doesn't weighs heavy at all when you walk. The soft leather strap of this clogs is what I like about most. On the other hand, the design of this necklace is the reason why I bought it in the first place, don't you think it look chic?
