Hashtag Armswag

Forever 21 and K8 Los Angeles bracelets

Sharing you two of my favorite "extra dose of swagger" lately. When it comes to arm swag/party, I personally like to mix simple and edgy pieces and right now I am very much into wearing just few tiny bracelets paired with some rings. I wear my bracelets quite often and majority of the arm swag/party are repeated, which is why I don't emphasize them anymore on my blog outfit posts, instead, all are posted on my Instagram @thestyleflux.

Pumped Up Kicks

Denim buttondown, Hues • Tanktop/wedge sneakers, Topshop • Skirt, Thrifted (from Tin Iglesias at #BU3)

Let’s just talk about the shoes, because that’s what this one is all about. The idea of a hidden heeled sneaker first caught my eye when celebrities, fashionistas and bloggers around the world began sporting the ultra chic Isabel Marant versions. Since then, I've always wished that someone would make one that I can actually afford and have. Now the girly meets sporty rendition has the likes and I recently spotted one at Topshop. So what's so great about these wedge sneakers? The hybrid is both fashionable and functional, with chunky heels built into the sporty look. You get the casual look of sneakers, but the feeling you get from walking in heels. We rarely ever associate sneakers with style, but this current footwear craze may have changed this for good. It's not practical to run in these 'sneakers' but they're probably be one of the more comfortable and unique pair of heeled shoes you'll own. I love my pair, and I will probably invest in another pair of wedge sneakers soon! So, take your kicks up a notch with wedge sneakers too!

Totally Tropical

Dress, Zara • Heels, People are People • Cuff/Bangle, SM Accessories

With temperatures skyrocketing quicker than ever (yesterday was recorded hottest day of the year) and with the incredible sunshine we were treated to these past few days, it feels like the perfect time to get stuck in to the best of the sunniest summer trends. And one of the hottest right now, are Tropical prints! These prints has got to be one of my favorite trends this summer. Wearing these makes the hot weather feel like easy breezy. These prints might be bold, but the styling tips are easy- since the tropical-print piece already have a lot going on, juxtapose the elaborate pattern with solid colors. Simply pair these printed pieces with minimal accessories and strappy heels for a chic and modern take on the trend and also for a standout ensemble.

Navajo nation

Top, c/o Pazzy Navarro • Navajo print pants, Zara • Pumps, Elegance by SM • Cuff, SM Accessories • YSL-inspired ring, Extremefinds

I spotted these pants in Zara's lookbook a few months back and I've also seen it worn by many international bloggers that I follow- Andy of Style Scrapbook, Carolina of Fashion Squad, Sandra of 5inch and up and Leandra of Man Repeller to name a few. It really caught my senses, I had a little heart attack over how awesome the print was. I've been dreaming of these coveted pants ever since so when I finally saw them at the stores last month I bought my dream pants right away and now I've officially jump into the bandwagon. Loving the combination blue, black, red and white and how the uneven pattern on each leg differs slightly from one another. The material of the pants is actually corduroy I had no idea until I saw it but it's very cool and light against the skin plus it's super comfy. It's my favorite pants so far!

Rock and roll tribe

Tribal printed buttondown shirt, K2 • High-waist shorts, People are People • Color-block pumps, Necessary Clothing

If you have been following the trends, then by now you all know that the major trend this season are all about prints and one of 'em are the tribal/ethnic prints. There’s nothing like a bright sunny day to bring on the longing for bold prints. And tribal prints – the striking, energetic and vibrant patterns and batik, are just the best match for this summer weather. Because the print is already a statement on it's own, I opted to tone down the colorful tribal top with a solid black separate shorts, for a bit of rock n’ roll edge.

Clash city rocker

Blazer/Pants, Thrifted • Miu-Miu inspired buttondown shirt, Shop Incez Axe • Pumps, Elegance by SM

Well, it's definitely the season of heavy dose of clashing prints&patterns and I'm very much obsessed with this trend. When it comes to pairing patterns, pretty much anything goes! The simple trick is to keep color palettes complementary- that is, with similar color scheme and avoid mixing too many prints at once. And since this is a bold look, keep accessories minimal. Layering prints is indeed a good way to be more daring on your style.

Walk out in the flowers

Top, Thrifted • Skirt, from Singapore • Peep-toe heels, Parisian by SM • Bracelets, Extremefinds/H&M/Forever21 • Cluth, SM

At this time of the year, floral prints start to bloom on the fashion scene. It seems that whenever the weather is warmer it begins to emerge and the need to lighten up our style comes along with it. Floral prints are indeed the best wear to bring sunshine into the wardrobe. One of the hottest things we’re seeing right now on runways, magazine covers and street style is the print-on-print trend- fusion of same print but on different scale or color. This trend definitely delivers a clashing and eye-catching statement. The key to achieve this floral-on-floral look is by simply choosing easy-to-mix separates. Your florals can look best if you match them properly, it's better to combine the print on different scale and color so that they will both complement each other. Both pieces are interesting on their own, but together, they make a strong statement. So don't just wear one print, wear two... or more! fearlessly embrace the trend!
